There are nine common ball flights in golf. Understanding what they are and what causes them is the first step to using them when needed. Professional golfers have the ability to use these ball flights to their advantage while amateurs have little to no control over which will show up. This is what allows good golfers to hit the ball on the green out of the trees or around an obstacle.
The only thing in a golf swing that truly matters is impact. During this split second everything that will determine the shot is happening. Which way the club face is pointing, how fast it is traveling, and if the ball hits the sweet spot are just a couple factors. Understanding which factor causes the ball to go in different directions is a major step to playing better golf.
