With the international match-play competition just around the corner, we take a sneak peak at what the US team will wear between the ropes.
With the start of The Presidents Cup just about a week away, 3-time U.S. Captain Fred Couples is putting the finishing touches on a well-decorated American team. One of the finishing details he recently check off his list of to-do’s is finalizing the apparel his players will don during the international competition.
Partnering with Ashworth, Couples aided in the selection of fabrics, styles, and colors to create a complete collection that incorporates his favorite design elements and represents the United States.
“It’s an honor to play for the United States at The Presidents Cup, and it was important to me that my players represented our country in premium shirts that are comfortable, look great and fit properly,” said Couples, U.S. Team captain and Ashworth brand ambassador. “The specially designed Ashworth pieces tell that story, and I’m proud the team will be wearing them on one of golf’s biggest stages.”
As for the golf itself, this will be the 10th edition of The Presidents Cup between the top US and non-European players. The US has won the last 4 meetings and holds an overall record of 7-1-1.
Couples hopes the sharp looks will translate to sharp play and another victory for the US side.
