Nick Watney shot an impressive final round 67 to beat Dustin Johnson by one stroke at the Blue Monster at Doral. Nick Watney has played in five events this year, and carded five top tens including the win on Sunday. As Tiger and Phil start to show their age and inconsistency, the young guns are quietly taking over the golfing world. Dustin Johnson held a two shot leading entering the final round but was once again unable to hold on to the lead. It seems as though Johnson has trouble closing out tournaments on Sunday afternoon as a bogey on 16 ended his chances.
Tiger Woods hit some absolutely horrible shots this week, including a 126 yard drive. He is no doubt a little lost in his new swing and only time will tell if he will continue to work with Sean Foley or head in a new direction.
Phil Mickelson looks to be baffled by the game of golf at the moment. Phil found an astounding 14 bunkers on Sunday. It seemed as though every shot they showed was Mickelson hacking it out of a bunker. He may have the best short game in history, but not even lefty can score when hitting 14 bunkers in a round.
