Job summary:

Maintains a safe and secure pool environment for members and guests by managing maintenance, policies, programs and staff.
Seasonal position starting in Spring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize “ACE Service Absolutes” by acknowledging, greeting and thanking all members and guests
  • Maintain a safe pool area by establishing and enforcing pool rules and policies
  • Ensure member/guest enjoyment and safety by supervising or performing routine maintenance and upkeep of the pool including checking water conditions for chlorine and Ph, dispensing chemicals as needed and maintaining a daily log of water test conditions; vacuuming the pool, emptying auto skimmers and skimming bugs manually from pool surface prior to daily use
  • Coordinate and supervise swimming programs (swimming lessons, diving lessons, swim team, etc.) by assigning and scheduling staff accordingly
  • Manage aquatic staff job results by recruiting, selecting and recommending qualified candidates for hire; training staff to execute departmental goals and responsibilities; scheduling staff according to demand patterns; supervising and evaluating staff and carrying out disciplinary action as needed, in accordance with AGC policies and applicable laws; maintaining corporate standards by enforcing company policies and procedures regarding attendance, timekeeping, dress code and safety; conduct staff meetings, trainings and services
  • Manage administrative functions for Aquatic Department by collecting and processing incident and accident reports on a daily basis; monitoring and ordering supplies as needed; developing and enforcing budget targets; producing various reports as requested by management
  • Respond immediately to any member/guest situations or concerns

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support all AGC initiatives and programs as requested by management

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree and 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The following certifications required: Certified Pool Operator, First Aid, CPR, Safety for Swim Coaches and Lifeguard Training Certificate
  • Ability to effectively communicate with members, guests, co-workers and management
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Basic plumbing and mechanical experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
