Job summary:

Maintains service and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
Note* Generally scheduled on a part-time, seasonal or contingent basis

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, and tools following operations manuals and manufacturer’s instructions; assisting clubhouse maintenance and cart mechanic with fabrications as needed; adjusting reels and back lap reels
  • Maintain equipment, parts and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt
  • Provide mechanical maintenance reports by maintaining documentation of repairs and parts ordering
  • Provide information and training on proper use/maintenance of equipment by communicating with co-workers
  • Oversee shop area maintenance by ensuring that shop remains clean and orderly, tools are kept clean and in proper working condition
  • Ensure success of operations by obtaining event information from all departments in order to follow through with special maintenance requirements and requests

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Order equipment and supplies as needed and approved by management, maintain good working relationship with vendors and vendor mechanics
  • Perform fabrication when typical problem solving has not proven effective
  • Efficiently process warranty requirements
  • Maintain familiarity with all safety programs
  • Implement and support all AGC initiatives and programs as requested by management

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma required (Specialty/Technical Training preferred) and 2 years of related experience in reel grinding, small engine repair, welding, electrical, carpentry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to operate the following equipment is required: diesel, electric and gasoline powered automobiles, trucks, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers, backhoes, skidsteer and other mechanical equipment used in utility work, reel grinders, mowing equipment and small tools
  • Ability to read and follow manuals, evaluate manufacturer’s specifications and manipulate problems with equipment
  • Basic abilities with Word and Excel software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management, in some locations Spanish speaking is helpful
  • Valid driver’s license is required
