Job summary:

Maintains accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions by supervising accounting procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting practices by verifying registers and counting cash; tracking and balancing cash, credit cards and gift certificates; making daily journal entries and bank deposit
  • Pay invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization for payment; posting payments to journal entries
  • Obtain revenue by preparing monthly reports for member accounts receivable and overseeing preparation of member statements; following up with delinquent accounts
  • Support payroll functions by collecting and auditing weekly timekeeping records and processing bi-weekly payroll checks, including calculation of commissions, tips, bonuses and lesson income
  • Maintain member files by inputting new member information, address or telephone changes as necessary and processing membership cancellations
  • Provide customer service to members by answering phone calls and resolving account questions, implementing the use of ACE protocol.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all internal controls are maintained and company accounting policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Implement and support all AGC initiatives and programs as requested by management

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, JD Edwards experience a plus
  • 2 years accounting/finance experience, including monthly reporting and general ledger management
  • 1-2 years experience in personnel management, preferably in the golf/hospitality/service industry
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel software for designing spreadsheets
  • Well versed in computer based accounting systems, Internet applications and Windows operating environment
  • Familiar with management of a timekeeping system, preferably Kronos
  • Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to produce financial statements under tight month-end deadlines
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and management
