Job summary:

Serves guests by providing assistance and direction at the first tee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Facilitate safe use of course and continuity of play by assuring that each group arrive at the first tee 5 minutes prior to tee time, communicating course information, course layout, rules of cart use and course conditions

  • Maintain AGC standards of customer service by inspecting each golf cart prior to assigning to member, noting cart number and any pre-existing damage on the cart ticket 

  • Ensure revenue by reconciling cart tickets with fees charged

  • Manage play on the course by communicating with the pro shop to ensure an efficient flow of registration, informing the pro shop of potential concerns, keeping a group on the tee, a group on the deck and a group in the hole

  • Maintain efficient starting procedures by preparing starter kits including copies of tee sheets, pencils, markers, scorecards and cart keys

  • Manage traffic at peak use times by utilizing a first hole spotter and directing cart attendants to have carts staged and ready for loading

 

Additional Responsibilities:

 

  • May be required to train other starters

 

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

 

  • Experience in a customer service oriented environment, preferably in the golf/hospitality/service industry

  • Ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, co-workers and management

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently
