Careers:  General Manager

American Golf Corporation manages a diverse array of properties from municipal golf courses to resort facilities and private country clubs. While each property has its own unique personality, there are many similarities in the scope of management responsibilities and the experience required to meet the job expectations. As an American Golf Corporation General Manager, you will be expected to work with department heads and coworkers to effectively manage the day-to-day operations in the following areas:

• Leadership - Cultivating a positive and productive workplace through communication, vision, teamwork and commitment; reinforcing AGC values and beliefs through your words and your actions
• Golf Operations - Encompassing tee sheet management, outside services, instruction programs, individual lessons, outings and tournaments
• Course Maintenance - Partnering with the Course Superintendent to ensure a healthy and manicured course from tee to green
• Customer Service - Providing world-class service and products to increase guest and member acquisition and retention
• Sales and Marketing - Implementing key strategies to generate revenue through increased rounds, membership and merchandise sales; understanding local competition and creatively increasing AGC's market share
• Food & Beverage - Understanding your property's F&B operations and fully maximizing all opportunities to enhance the dining and banquet experience for increased guest satisfaction and sales
• Accounting/Budgeting - Creating annual budgets, independently perform or oversee the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly accounting and financial reporting; managing expenses against revenues
• Human Resources - Recruiting, training and developing department heads and coworkers; manage compensation, payroll and benefits administration
• Successful candidates will have significant hands-on experience in the above areas, as well as meet the following qualifications:
• Minimum of 3-5 years operations management experience in a service-oriented, hospitality industry, such as: golf course, hotel, resort, restaurant, retail or sports management
• Previous responsibility for the profit and loss of a business or business unit

Successful track record of creating and implementing sales and marketing programs to address customer needs and generate revenues

• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a staff
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sports, hospitality management or a related field
