Vista Valencia Golf Course Who Remembers........Moe Howard Date of Birth 19 June 1897, Brooklyn, New York, USA Date of Death 4 May 1975, Los Angeles, California, USA Moe Howard, the "Boss Stooge" and brother of Stooges Curly Howard and Shemp Howard, began his acting career in 1909 by playing bit roles in silent Vitagraph films. At 17 he joined a troupe working on a showboat and also appeared in several two-reel comedy shorts. In 1922 he, brother Shemp and Larry Fine joined roughhouse vaudeville comic Ted Healy, forming the act that would become The Three Stooges. Howard toured vaudeville and appeared in films with Healy for ten years before the Stooges left to pursue a separate career. Moe appeared in more than 250 films during his 66-year career, including 190 Three Stooges shorts. In a scary moment, Donald pulled his tee shot left on No. 3 and struck a volunteer who was following the group ahead. The young woman was OK, but Donald wasn't. He went on to make the first of four consecutive bogeys that killed his chances of an Open. Vista Valencia Golf Course Exercises to Make Putting Practice Less Painful Becoming a great putter takes a tremendous amount of time. You need to practice to develop feel and touch, but the long hours standing in a bent-over position on the practice green can wreak havoc on your back, hips and neck. Before Practicing Putting: Overhead Deep Squat This exercise will warm up your back, hips, knees, shoulders and ankles and it will prepare your body for the awkward position you are about to assume. Step 1 - Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding your putter with both hands above your head. Step 2 - Slowly squat down until your thighs are parallel to the ground, keeping the putter above your head and your heels planted firmly on the ground. Hold for a moment and then slowly stand up. Step 3 - Repeat overhead deep squat 6 to 8 times. After Practicing Putting: Forward Bend It is important to stretch your body to prevent soreness and keep you supple. The forward bend stretches your back, neck and hamstrings. Step 1 - Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding your putter parallel to the ground behind your back. Step 2 - Slowly bend forward hinging from the hips, dropping the club to your ankles. Hold position for 10 to 15 seconds. Step 3 - Slowly come back up to starting position by rolling your spine up one vertebra at a time. Your head should be the last part of your body to come up. Repeat exercise two to three times.
