It was the great Winston Churchill who once said that we make a living by what we get, but make a life by what we give. American Golf Corporation is taking the lead on the spirit of giving by partnering up with The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank to spread holiday cheer in the community with food drives at four of its golf courses in San Diego. AGC will also be rewarding golfers who contribute to these efforts with a special gift. For example, guests who bring a canned food item to Chula Vista Golf Course, National City Golf Course, Tecolote Canyon Golf Course, or The Vineyard Golf Course through November 25 will receive a medium bucket of range balls for their donation.
The leaders at the participating San Diego golf courses value the importance of being involved in charitable efforts to help those that might be less fortunate.
“We are excited at this opportunity for us to come together with our golf community to help those who are in need this holiday season. The San Diego Food Bank is a valuable part of our community and we are privileged to participate in this year’s food drive,” said Chula Vista General Manager Chris Gilfillen.
Tim Hayward, general manager of Tecolote Canyon, says that any and all efforts to assist charities in reaching their goals is important to his entire staff. “We feel an obligation to concentrate on lending a helping hand when we are able. The canned food drive is as important as any other charitable effort we put forth, as it allows The San Diego Food Bank to feed many in need. At Tecolote Canyon, we plan to do our part by filling both barrels and hopefully have them overflowing by the end of our canned food drive.”

About American Golf’s Charity Efforts
AGC is a huge advocate for charitable success and continues to honor this commitment through Golf Tournament Management , a program that provides comprehensive resources and education to non-profits and community organizations. Perhaps, the most impactful way that the GTM program has helped these types of institutions is through the hosting of profitable golf tournaments.
