It is not exactly television friendly on the weekends simply because so few golfers remain in the tournament. The championship and consolation matches on Sunday often have more commercials and commentator ramblings than actual golf and it can be quite boring. It is also necessary to start the tournament a day early and with fewer players in comparison with a regular tour event. Saying that the format has a rich tradition in golfs roots. It offers a needed break from the usual tournament format. Since the eradication of the International Tournament in Colorado it is the only alternative offered on the PGA Tour.
