Bubba Watson outlasted Corey Pavin and Scott Verplank to win the Traveler’s Championship Sunday. Watson, who has been knocking on the door for years finally claimed his first win on the PGA Tour. The long hitting Watson was up against two very experienced veterans and was able to close the deal on the second playoff hole. Perhaps the fact that Corey Pavin was in a playoff for the win is as much a story as Bubba getting the victory. Pavin, like Tom Watson before him, have shown that the elder statesmen of golf can still compete on the big stage.
