Hole #1

The opening hole at National City Golf Course is a short dogleg left that offers a quick test right off the bat. With a narrow fairway and a tucked, back-to-front sloping green, this hole is a tough opener. Par is a good score here.

Hole #2

The only par 5 on the golf course is 505 yards and slightly uphill. With a creek to the right and a lateral hazard to the left, this straight but narrow hole tests every shot. The approach into the green is elevated to a small green, making distance control a priority.

Hole #3

This uphill par 4 is only 250 yards but it can make or break a round. With out-of-bounds to the left and a sloping fairway, placement off the tee is crucial to success. The approach to the green is elevated and guarded by two bunkers along the right side.

Hole #4

This short and slightly doglegged hole is the easiest of the par 4’s. At just 240 yards, it is a drivable hole, but peril awaits the missed tee shot, with out-of-bounds to the right of the green. A long iron off the tee is the best bet to make birdie, as it will usually leave you with a short chip to a relatively flat green, guarded by two large bunkers.

Hole #5

This short par 3 is guarded by bunkers in the front and behind the wide but shallow green. The prevailing wind effects distance and club selection. Hitting the green offers you a good attempt at birdie.

Hole #6

A tough par 3 that plays longer than the yardage. A right to left wind will effect even the best tee shots and the small green makes this hole more difficult than expected. A long bunker along the right side of the green offers further protection, making this par 3 the toughest on the golf course.

Hole #7

The longest par 4 on the golf course is also the toughest; with an elevated tee shot over a barranca, Hole 7 will test the golfer as you aim for a narrow fairway with out-of-bounds to the left. Approach shots into an elevated, long green are often short as this hole plays longer than its yardage and slightly into the wind.

Hole #8

Although this hole is a relatively short par 4, Hole 8 offers an interesting challenge off the tee. A large tree line about 150 yards off the tee forces a carried shot into a fairway that has a lateral hazard to the right. The narrow green is guarded by the sloping hillside along the left side and a bunker along the right.

Hole #9

The shortest hole on the golf course has provided many hole-in-ones and even two by the same person on the same day, playing the course twice! At just 110 yards, this par 3 can be a bit tough to judge due to the elevated tee box, small green, and hillside all along the left side of the hole. This is a fun finishing hole that could make for a most memorable round with a little luck and the right bounce.
