The Vineyard at Escondido Raises $30,080 for Folds of Honor at 2026 Charity Golf Tournament

Annual Escondido golf tournament drew 114 players, including 17 active military members and first responders.

ESCONDIDO, Calif. — August 28, 2026 — The Vineyard at Escondido hosted its annual Folds of Honor charity golf tournament, raising $30,080 for the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Every dollar of that donation goes toward educational scholarships for the spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members and first responders — families whose sacrifice continues long after the headlines fade. Since its founding, Folds of Honor has awarded hundreds of thousands of scholarships nationwide, and the $30,080 raised in Escondido this year adds directly to that total.

114 Golfers Take the Course in Escondido

The tournament welcomed 114 registered golfers, among them 17 active military members and first responders representing the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Escondido Police Department, and San Diego City Firefighters. Their participation, alongside community members from across North County, gave the day the character the tournament has become known for: a round of golf played in direct support of the families who carry the cost of service.

Recognizing Our Golf Course Ambassadors

A tournament of this size runs on volunteer effort, and none of it happens without our golf course Ambassadors, who represent the American Golf Foundation — the charitable arm of American Golf. From securing sponsorships to setting up the course and keeping the day running smoothly, the Ambassadors put in tireless work long before the first tee shot and long after the last putt drops. Special thanks go to Ambassador Barry Slotten for leading the charge and bringing this year’s tournament together.
